My Miranda

This is my sweet ANGEL! Last week she turned 3 months!
I can't believe how fast it has gone by! She is so beautiful and has such a sweet spirit!
She brings lots of happiness to our lives!

We like to go swimming...it wears the kids out! She fell asleep on the way home so I just layed her on the floor and she took a really good nap! =)

So I just got a BUMBO and I LOVE it! She sits so good in it and even falls asleep sometimes! It is so perfect because she wants to be up and not laying down so now she can sit all by herself! I think I like it as much as she likes it!

She is getting so fun, smiling a lot and talking a lot!
She is not sleeping the greatest, especially last night, but every once in a while I will get like 4 hours of sleep in a row and then it's all good!

She is SO SWEET and has the cutest features! She has really long eyelashes, and really pretty eyes, also the sweetest smile! It just melts your heart!

Thanks Melanie for this cute little skirt! She wears it all the time!

She definately loves her big brother! And he loves her... he is always kissing her and hugging her and playing with her! He says her name soooo cute! It almost sounds like "wada" but I just can't explain! It is funny because he will say mermaid really well, but he won't even try to say Miranda the right way it is just "wada". He loves her!

Well, they grow so fast... if you're not paying attention you will miss sooo much! I'm so happy to be a mommy and have two fabulous kiddos! I love them!

Happy Birthday Ian!

So last week was Ian's Birthday! He turned 2! For the last month he was constantly telling us "Ian's birthday comin up" so we were excited it was finally here!

When I asked him what he wanted for his birthday he always said, green truck. So we made him a green truck cake! We have seen the "cake boss" on TV and he makes the coolest cakes, so we thought we'd give it a try! Although it wasn't perfect we thought it turned out pretty good!

Ian's morning consisted of watching a few cartoons (Mickey Mouse Clubhouse to be exact), eating rice krispies for breakfast (he does that every day!) and he just couldn't stand those presents sitting there so we let him open one...it was a movie from Grandma... of course we had to watch it (well the first 10 minutes of it at least).

Then his friends started coming! We had a little party and it was really fun! In the picture with his friends starting on the left is Rebecca, Luke, Ian and Hailey! It was so cute!

Ian got a lot of fun presents, more than he needed!!! He got a bike, a bat and ball, a puzzle, a green truck, a slinky, a couple movies and a webcam for the computer! =)

After his friends left we took a nap! He was ready for that! Then when we all woke up Ian opened his present from Miranda... another green truck! He loved it of course. For the next couple of days he had to have both his green trucks, the motorcycle off his puzzle and his bike with him at all times! It was so funny, he would try to ride his bike and hold all his toys at the same time... it didn't work!

The rest of the day was spent swimming and then watching "move it move it" (madagascar 2)! It was a fun day and I think he had a good time!

Happy Birthday Ian, I love you!
I can't believe my baby is 2 already!

Camping

So a couple weekends ago we decided to go camping with our friends Megan and Kendall! For Nik and I it would be our second time camping since we got married! In fact, we had to go to walmart and buy a tent and little foam pads! =) Luckily Nik's mom gave us sleeping bags for Christmas a couple years ago so we pulled those out and used them for the first time! =) We both like camping we just haven't done it! But that will change because we had a really great time! Thanks Megan for inviting us!

Ian had a really great time! He loved playing in the dirt, throwing rocks, finding little sticks...he just loved it!
Not to far from the campground there was a "lake" but it was more like a pond! But still... for Arizona I was impressed! The weather was fabulous... 80's during the day and 50's a night! Good thing I packed warm clothes just in case!

This is our tent and then Megan and Kendall's!

Miranda did really good too! She slept better than usual because I was sleeping right next to her all night! She is getting so fun!

When we woke up the first thing Ian said was "fun camping"... so we are pretty sure we will go again! He loved every minute of it! Nik and I didn't get any sleep, but it was still really fun!
When we were taking the tent down and getting everything packed up Ian really wanted to help! So I let him carry this foam pad to the car... he is such a stud!

The place was really pretty and suprisingly green! It was very refreshing to see water! =)

The boys playing bocce ball ... Ian liked that too!

Ok, this is that bathroom at the campground. I took this picture because when we got up there I really needed to go to the bathroom (those of you who know me know that this is a frequent occasion (= ) anyways I went to use the bathroom and there was a KILLER WASP guarding the door. Not just sitting there, but when I went up to the door it came at me and as I backed up it charged me... it was seriously ferociously guarding the door. It was so scary, I have never seen any kind of wasp or bee act that aggressive before!!!!! Luckily there was a guy not too far away with some spray! I was so worried I would have to go in the bushes instead of the outhouse, but when I finally was able to go in there it was sooooo stinky I ended up using the bushes the rest of the time anyways! Talk about roughing it! =)

This was a big bug Kendall found... Ian thought it was pretty cool! I thought it was big and gross! =)

Well we had a really good time and are definately looking forward to doing it again!

We made it to ARIZONA!

Ok so all my pictures came up not in order so I'll just tell you what each one is! =)

This is what I walked in to on Saturday after Nik picked me up from the airport... they got there kinda late and it was so stinkin hot and they had already unloaded one family that everyone was just so hot and tired it all just got piled in our apartment! Luckily I had my sister here with us for a couple of days to help with the kids while we unpacked and stuff! Love you Sara!

This is the apartment after a lot of putting away, and it still looks horrible! It does look better now, I'll get those pictures on soon!

So when we were at the airport we looked pretty funny, but it wasn't really funny! My sister and I both had a baby, a carseat, a carry-on and a diaper bag, and to go through security we had to take the baby out of her carseat, take all shoes and belts off, I had to hold Ian and Miranda and Sara had to juggle the two carseats and all the bags and get them through security! When we finally made it to our terminal (which took quite a long time, Ian doesn't walk very fast) they changed our terminal so we had to haul it all back to the other terminal! A couple of times both in Salt Lake and in the Arizona airport Ian tripped and fell, but instead of getting back up he would just lay there... he would just lay his head on his hands and just lay there for like 2 or 3 minutes! It was so funny, he was so tired of walking that he just couldn't get back up. And Sara and I have our hands so full we can't pick him up. So it took us a while to get anywhere in the airports!Well we finally got on the plane and both babies did really good!

Ok funny story... (again, not really funny) On Nik's way to Arizona the AC went out in our car. So he picked us up from the airport and we drove straight to the dealership by our house. Getting there was the hard part though, we had to drive on the freeway with our windows down, and that didn't really help...it was like a very high powered blow dryer blowing its hottest air, but we had to have them down or we would have DIED!!!! So Ian was screaming in the back, Miranda did pretty good, and I was pouring water on both of them periodically to try and keep them a little bit cool. As you can see in the picture Ian's face is very red...we were all soooo HOT! He eventually fell asleep and stayed asleep once we got to the dealership! So they took a nap on the floor while we got our car fixed! Luckily we bought the extended warranty on our car when we bought it so all we had to pay was $100!

Thank you Grandma Spendlove for the stickers....they were perfect on the plane! On take-off I had Ian and Sara had Miranda and a bottle. I wanted them both chewing or swallowing when we took off so their ears didn't hurt. Luckily my sister had taught Ian how to chew gum in the weeks leading up to our move so he got gum! The only problem was that he kept swallowing it (because he didn't like the flavor) so I kept putting more in his mouth. Just in the time it took for the plane to take off and get in the air Ian swallowed six whole pieces of gum and ate a fruit snack.

Miranda slept most of the flight, and woke up to eat at the perfect time! She was very happy and didn't seem to mind the altitude changes at all! I was very happy about that!

This is Sara and Miranda before the plane took off!

This is us going through security... My arms were ready to fall off!!!!!
Hopefully that all made sense even though it is not in order! It was definately an interesting experience getting us down here, but we finally made it and we love it! Our new ward is really nice, we have met some really nice people, Ian is making new friends too! It has been really hot, but I have not minded the heat at all! We have a pool so we go swimming a lot! We also just stay home and play a lot! There is a lot to do down here, lots of parks and restaurants and shopping within walking distance of us (when its not hot!) so we are in a great location!
I still don't have the internet, so I'll work on that and then I'll be able to get caught up on my posting!
