Nursery

So this past Sunday I decided I would take Ian to Nursery to see how he would do (he is not 18 months for another couple of weeks). We got there a little early and started playing with the toys, then the teacher, Kristen, came and I explained to Ian that Mommy was going to go and that he could play with Kristen (he kept calling her grandma (= ), and he said bye bye and I left. I went to Relief Society and while I was sitting there I almost started crying... I didn't realize it would be sad when Ian went to Nursery...I thought I would be so happy! Well luckily he only lasted about 15 minutes and Kristen brought him to me and I could tell that he had been crying because he was doing that sniffling body shaking thing... that was kinda sad too! Kristen was great though... she was so nice! After we sat back down in Relief Society I said "See, when you needed me she brought you back to me, so when you go to Nursery next week you don't have to be scared... because they can come find me." He looked at me and then said "thank you grandma, thank you grandma." It was so cute... he was saying thank you to Kristen for bringing him back to me =) throughout the rest of Relief Society he would randomly say "thank you grandma"... it was pretty funny! If you guys have any tips on transitioning them into Nursery I would love to hear them! Also, any tips on not being sad when they actually go? =)

Oh my goodness, I was counting down to when Luke would be 18 months old so he could go to nursery..now I dread Sundays! I am either in their with him or they are bringing him to me because they think he is going to throw up he is crying so hard!
PS It sounds like Ian is talking really well!!

thank you grandma....oh that is so stinkin cute!!! the first week cooper went to nursery no problem, and i almost cried thinkin he doesn't even need me!!! then after two weeks he started hating it...then for about a month either brandon or i would go down there with him until it was snack time then we would leave...and now he can go the whole time by himself. it took a while, but it's fun to walk by and see him playin with all the little kids and singing the songs....ah they look so big in nursery

I never even thought that it would be hard to take your child to nursery. Now you say that, I'll probably cry too :) Wish I could give you some advice though...so sorry!

we need to get together soon!

That is soooo cute! I was in nursery, so moisah was able to come with me since he was 8mo. and just before I had the baby they released me. So, Mosiah has been having a hard time lately. One time I went back with him and at snack time I told him I was going to leave and the tears came rolling out! So, I had to settle him down and stayed for a little while longer. Luckily he's used to the other ladies in there and stays with them. Well, good luck and I like how you talk and explain things to Ian. I like to do that with Mosiah. I want him to know that I care about him, but not baby him. Good Job.
