Adjusting...

MIRANDA:
Miranda is always by the baby!  She loves to climb up on her bassinette, sit on my lap while I feed her, lay on the floor by her, hold her on the couch... she just can't get enough of Kamryn!
I'm afraid, though, that she is suffering from "middle child syndrome!"  She stopped taking naps, she insists on doing everything herself... including choosing and putting on her clothes, I have to duct tape her diaper on or she frequently changes it herself, and she is just a little stinker these days!  On the other hand... she is so cute with the baby and really LOVES her so much!

IAN:
Ian is adjusting pretty well.  He finds ways to keep himself busy while I am occupied with the baby.  I feel these days my house doesn't stay very clean.  It is amazing what can happen in the 30 minutes I am feeding the baby!  He is getting bigger (and loves to tell me that at least 100 times a day) and is learning so many new things!  He loves Kamryn and is so curious about her.  He is always asking questions about her and likes to know everything that is going on with her!  He was very curious about her umbilical cord and was so excited when it fell off!!  He talked about it all day and it was the first thing he would tell anyone he talked to!  He was excited that she could have a real bath!  He is always telling me how small Kamryn is and he loves it when I tell him that Kamryn loves him!  He is a big helper and is really good at holding her or watching her for a couple of minutes!!

We had a fun visit from Grandpa!!  The kids loved playing with him and it was so fun having him!  He thinks Kamryn looks just like me when I was a baby!!  I was excited about that because the other two definately look like their daddy!

KAMRYN:
Kamryn is such a good baby!  Never too fussy, sleeps pretty good, seems calm and peaceful most of the time... couldn't ask for a better baby!  I love her so much and am so thankful that she has been easy!  The above picture is her first time going to church!

Is so alert when she is awake!  She just looks around at everything.

So sweet when she is asleep!  I could just stare at her all day!

The kids just can't get enough and I love it!!  We all love her so much and are so happy to have her in our family!

Kamryn... meet your brother and sister!

Ian was so excited to hold the baby!  Due to Miranda having pneumonia we didn't let the kids get very close for the first week or so!  Ian wasn't sick, but just in case we made him put on a clean shirt and wear a mask!  He didn't mind... he was so excited!!

Then a couple days later we decided Miranda could hold her too!  I had ordered kid size masks, but when we put one on Miranda she stopped breathing and freaked out! =)  Oh well... at least I tried!  We still let her hold Kamryn and SHE LOVED IT!!

They both love her so much... they just can't get enough!

KISSES

All three!  Each of them is so different and unique!  It is so amazing to know that they are my kids!!!  I never could have imagined what they would look like or be like!  I love their personalities!  I'm a lucky girl!!
p.s.  Nik and I can't get enough either!! =)

We are home!

Going home from the Hospital!  I stayed as long as I could because Miranda was so sick at home!
She slept the whole way home!
Ian (with Grandma's help) had decorated the door to my bedroom with hearts and this cute little sign.. it says "Mom & Dad, My little hands will help you with Kam!  Love Ian"
I thought it was so cute!!!!!
Kamryn brought both the kids a little present and they loved it!  Both got a big stuffed animal, some treats, and some fun little toys!
Kamryn is the sweetest thing ever!  I have loved the time I have had with her so far!!
I got sick as well so I've been wearing a mask and trying to keep things very clean so she doesn't get sick!  My hands are so sore from washing them so much!
We borrowed a baby gate and have kept it up in my doorway!  Best idea ever!  The kids stay out and I stay in... works out great!  They are so excited to hold her when everybody is feeling better!
They also like looking at her through the sliding glass door in my room!  They can get a lot closer that way and even like to give her kisses on the glass!  They both love her so much!
Grandma was such a big help while she was here.  I was so sad to see her go yesterday!  The kids have been missing her too!  Thanks mom!
First picture with all three kids! =)
I am so blessed and I thank my Heavenly Father every day for the wonderful family he has given me!  I also am so thankful for my friends and my visiting teachers who have been so willing to help and bring me dinner and I know they would do anything I asked them to!  You guys are such a blessing in my life!  Thank you!

We'd like you to meet Kamryn...

So despite my BEST efforts I didn't go into active labor on my own... and I made it to my induction date!  I was scheduled to go in on Wednesday (3/2/11) night and was told they would call me sometime between 9:00pm and midnight... well I tried to get some sleep, but between Miranda being sick and my nerves... I didn't get much.  Around 3:30am I called the hospital because they hadn't called me yet and they said it would be a couple more hours. Then they finally called me at 5:00am and told me to be there at 6:00am!
YEAH!!!!

Just waiting!

Instead of starting me right on ptocin they started me with a gel inserted into my cervix.  It worked like a dream!  I was having contractions 2 min. apart!  After an hour of laying down I was able to get up and walk around!  At 11:30am I got my epidural and boy was I glad about that!!!!  What a relief!  I am happy to say that I know what real contractions feel like and I'm also pretty sure I never want to feel them again!  A little after noon the Doctor broke my water.  Then the nurse started me on ptocin!  An hour and a half later I was complete!

The nurse started getting things ready and she was going to have me do some practice pushes before the doctor got there.  She lifted up my legs and then put them back down and said we weren't going to do any practice pushes because she was so close to coming out!  Then I was laughing about something and she told me to stop laughing or I'd "laugh the baby out!"  I didn't realize how serious she was until the doctor got there and one contractions later I had delivered the baby!  It all went so smoothly and seemed so easy!!  By far my easiest delivery EVER!! =)  Hopefully that means it will be my easiest recovery too!  Nik was great and got to cut the cord!  Oh speaking of the cord... it was wrapped all around Kamryn.  It was around her neck and arm and hand and body, but it wasn't choking her...thank goodness!

Kamryn Ela Spendlove was born at 1:55pm.  She weighed 7 lb 2 oz and was 20 in long!  She has a lot of really light hair and looks so much like my other kids did!  She is so very sweet and I love just holding her and smelling her and watching her!

Proud daddy!  I love these daddy moments!

My fabulous nurse!!  I couldn't have asked for a better nurse!

We are so lucky to have such great kids!  I love all three of them so much!
While I've been in the hospital Ian and Miranda have been home with my mom!  She has been so great and has been taking such good care of them!

Poor Miranda is still so sick!  Nik took her back to the doctor today and we found out she has pneumonia. =(  I'm glad to know and glad to have her on antibiotics!  I'm pretty nervous about taking Kamryn home tomorrow because I don't want her to get sick.  She is so tiny and so new and I'm sure it would be a lot worse for her!  I think I will just hang out in my room with her and not let the kids in!

My mom was also able to come up to the Hospital and spend some time with Kamryn and I!  It is great having her help and having her here! It has also been wonderful having Nik home (Spring Break) and we will be so sad to send him back to school on Monday!

Thanks to EVERYONE for your love and support and prayers!!  I am overwhelmed with all the blessings in my life right now and I'm so grateful to my Heavenly Father!  What a beautiful Angel he sent to me!  And what a wonderful family I have!!
